Avé Clyburn Soprano

Soprano Avé Clyburn is a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance. She has performed in VCU Opera productions such as The Magic Flute and the 75th Anniversary Gala, and made her VCU Opera debut as Susanna in scenes from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro in 2023. Before focusing on opera, she studied musical theatre at the American Musical Dramatic Academy College and Conservatory for the Performing Arts and continues to draw on that background in her performances. Outside of performing, she teaches and directs children’s theatre with several organizations including Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre, Alexandria Children's Theatre, Adventure Theatre and Virginia Repertory Theatre.
